The Colonial Room

A Taste Of Our Victorian Past

The Victorian-era Colonial Room Restaurant continues the culinary tradition established in 1859 by head chef Mary Menger, wife to William Menger. Here, the cuisine pays homage to the past, early jazz and ragtime play in the background, and romantic lighting sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.  CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE FOR BREAKFAST, BRUNCH AND LUNCH.

  • Great Dining and Stay

The Colonial Room dining brought back the Victorian era along with great food and attentive service. All three of us tried a different entree and enjoyed all, sampling each others a little of course. Ended with a tasty dessert. Later that evening we made a stop at historic Menger bar for some drinks. Service was excellent and the surroundings. Walking the lobby and halls are like a journey through a historic museum. Will be back!

  • Elegant Restaurant In Historic Menger Hotel

Located in the Historic Menger Hotel near the Alamo, this elegant restaurant offers very reasonable lunch prices and attentive service. I had a 1/2 chicken salad sandwich with a cup of their signature tortilla soup. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate cake with their famous mango ice cream. Delicious!
